Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta Celebrates Success of Gujarati Drama and 25th Anniversary,
Atlanta, GA – April 20, 2025
On the evening of April 19th, 2025, the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta hosted a vibrant gathering at the Sardar Patel Bhavan. Families and friends filled the venue, and the reception hall was alive with cheerful greetings as guests efficiently checked in using the Samaj's new digital system, 'Desi Ticketwala'. Volunteers, executive committee members, and board members worked together to ensure a smooth entry process.
The highlight of the evening was the Gujarati live theater 'Wife Happy Toh Life Happy,' presented by the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta. This compelling family drama resonated with the audience, delivering a powerful modern message about the importance of wives within joint families and their crucial role in family and societal success. As a heartfelt tribute, the Samaj dedicated the performance to the hardworking women of the community.
The event was a resounding success, playing to a full house. The evening was graced by the presence of prominent Atlanta figures, including Padmabhushan Prof. Jagdish Sheth and his wife Shri Madhu Sheth, Kumud Savla, Founder of NNKB (Nritya Natak Kala Academy), the oldest Kathak dance school in Georgia, Jatin Shah, Founder of IGCSA (Indian Gujarati Cultural Society of Atlanta), and Sonal Parekh, Principal of Khabar Magazine.
Adding to the sense of community and continuity, the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta also welcomed esteemed past Presidents: Chatur Chhabhaya, Vipul Patel, Varshaben Patel, Nisha Patel, Girish Mukhi, Sharad Shah (a founding member), and Naginbhai Patel, along with numerous other dedicated life members. The event was further enriched by the presence of Rasikbhai, past President of the IACA Temple, and leaders from SMVS Atlanta.
This gathering also coincided with the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta's celebration of the 25th anniversary of its beloved building, Sardar Patel Bhavan.
